What is Link?

Modified on Thu, 14 May at 2:40 PM

Link is a digital wallet hosted by our card processor, Stripe. By opting in to save your payment method at checkout, you are setting up a Link wallet for faster and easier purchasing.

Bookshop.org does everything in its power to provide secure protections in protecting your data. With Link, your payment information is secured in the following ways:

  • Data privacy: When you make a payment with Link, we encrypt your data to keep it secure. We don't share your full card number or CVV with other businesses.

  • Identity verification: We’ll text or email you a one-time code when you use Link on a new site or a new device. If you don’t want to receive one-time codes, you can use passkeys.

  • Security standards: We’re a certified PCI Service Provider Level 1, which means we meet the highest level of certification available in the payments industry.

Create a Link account on the Link website or by saving your information when checking out. You can manage your payment information and see past purchases by logging into your Link account.

Please note that you are NOT required to use Link when shopping at bookshop.org, nor is Link required to have a preferred payment method saved to your bookshop.org user account.

If you have unintentionally created a Link wallet and would like to delete it, you can do so here: https://support.link.com/how-to-delete-your-saved-payment-information
