What is the difference between a bookstore and non-bookstore affiliate?

Modified on Mon, 9 Feb at 6:42 PM

Established independent bookstores, with one of the following ABA memberships: Pop-up, Mobile, Storefront, or Provisional, that sign up on Bookshop.org to be affiliates have the benefit of being listed on our Find a Bookstore Map, as well as enjoying a 30% commission from every book purchased from their Bookshop.org affiliate page or book list. These stores will also be added to our profit-share pool for independent bookstores which is distributed every six months (in July and January of each year).

Please email Justin Walls (justin.walls@bookshop.org) if you are a qualifying bookstore affiliate and he will get your Bookshop.org account upgraded.

Non-bookstore affiliates can include authors, publishers, media outlets, bloggers, influencers, book reviewers, and anyone else interested in promoting and/or selling books online using the Bookshop.org platform. Non-bookstore affiliates can create their own customized affiliate page and will receive a 10% commission from every book purchased from that page (and up to 15% if they qualify for the Enhanced Affiliate Shared Revenue Program described here).
